“In the Garden, No. 2” was inspired by the memory of a loose summer garden. Working from memory, this piece is focused on colour and movement, an impression more than a record.

This painting is made on linen stretched over a solid birchwood cradled panel. The artwork wraps all the way to the edges, so the piece is fully resolved on every side and ready to hang.

My work is an impression shaped as much by feeling and memory as by the subject in front of me. The time and care behind my process is reflected in the small variations that come from working by hand - resulting in artwork that is inviting and familiar, as if it's always been in your home.
