By accessing this website and purchasing artwork, you agree to these Terms of Service. These terms may be updated occasionally, and continued use of the site constitutes acceptance of any changes. All artwork, text and images on this site are the property of the artist and are protected by copyright.

Products and Availability

All artwork listed is original and one of a kind. Once a piece is sold, it is no longer available. Every effort is made to represent colours and textures accurately; however oil paintings have depth and surface texture that may not fully translate on screen, and colour may vary slightly depending on your device. If you have questions about a specific piece, please get in touch before purchasing.

The artist reserves the right to limit or cancel orders at any time, including in cases of suspected fraud or error.

Pricing and Payment

All prices are listed in CAD. Prices may change without notice. Payment is due in full at checkout. Buyers are responsible for any applicable taxes, import duties or customs fees charged by their local authorities.

Shipping and Delivery

Processing time before shipping is 3-5 business days. All artwork is carefully packaged and shipping with tracking and insurance. Packaging methods are tailored to the size and type of artwork to ensure safe delivery.

Please ensure your shipping address is accurate at the time of checkout. Delivery delays caused by postal carriers, customs or other external factors are beyond the artist’s control.

All purchases over $100 CAD require a signature on delivery. Buyers are responsible for any import duties or taxes. Delivery times vary by destination. Please get in touch before purchasing if you would like to waive the signature on delivery.

Special notice for ALL collectors: Due to the Canada Post workers strike, I am unable to provide delivery to PO Boxes. All packages require a street address at this time.

Special notice for US collectors: On Friday, August 29, the US ended the "de minimus" tariff exemption. As of right now, original artwork is still exempt and you should not be charged additional fees when your artwork arrives.

Returns and Exchanges:

Returns are accepted. Returns must be initiated within 10 days of the paintings arrival. If you’d like to start a return, please contact me as soon as possible. If the packaging was damaged in shipping please photograph before and after opening. Returns must be packaged appropriately for safe travel, and shipping must be insured - these will be at the buyers expense.

Order Cancellations

Orders may be cancelled within 24 hours of purchase, provided the item has not yet been shipped. Once a piece has shipped, it can no longer be cancelled.

Digital Products and Gift Cards

Digital downloads are non-refundable. Gift cards cannot be redeemed for cash and do not expire. If you experience any issues accessing digital content, please get in touch promptly so it can be resolved.

Commissions

Commissions are managed through an additional contract that outlines timelines, deposits, approvals, and policies. If you are interested in commissioning a piece please contact the studio directly for details.

Care and Display

All materials used in the artwork are archival. Proper care is essential to keep the piece in good condition. By purchasing, you acknowledge responsibility for displaying the artwork in a stable environment, away from direct sunlight, moisture, high humidity, and extreme temperature changes.

Copyright and Use of Content

All artwork, text and images on this website remain the intellectual property of Laura Knowles Art. Purchasing a piece does not grant reproduction rights. No image or artwork may be copied, printed or reproduced without prior written permission.

While collectors are free to resell original artworks they have purchased, the artist requests that resales be conducted transparently and with credit to Laura Knowles Art. Misrepresentation of the work’s origin, condition or value is prohibited.

Digital Products and Downloads

All digital products, including catalogues and other downloadable content, are for personal use only. By downloading, you agree not to reproduce, distribute, share, or resell any files. Copyright remains with Laura Knowles Art. Downloads are provided as-is without warranties of any kind. Laura Knowles Art is not liable for any damage, data loss, or technical issues resulting from downloading or using the files. Files are delivered immediately, and due to the digital nature of the product, all sales are final. If you experience technical issues with your download, please contact me directly.

Privacy

Personal information collected during checkout (such as your name, email, shipping address, and payment details) is used solely to process and fulfill your order, and to communicate with you if needed. Your information will never be sold or shared outside of what is necessary to complete your purchase.

Limitation of Liability

The artist is not responsible for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages that may result from the use of this website or the purchase of artwork, including shipping delays or customs issues beyond their control.

The artist is not liable for any delay or failure to perform due to causes beyond their reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, postal strikes, transportation interruptions, or government actions.

Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of Saskatchewan, Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Dispute Resolution

If an issue arises with your order, please contact the artist directly within 7 days of delivery to allow resolution. Most concerns can be resolved quickly through the direct communication. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, both parties agree to seek a good-faith resolution before pursuing further action.

Entire Agreement and Severability

These Terms of Service, together with the Privacy Policy and any additional agreements  specific to commissions, constitute the entire agreement between the buyer and the artist. If any provision of these terms is found to be unlawful, void, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect.
