Drawn from the prairie
I make oil paintings and drawings shaped by the flow of studio life: slow mornings, prairie garden and landscape references, muted color, and the rhythm of the seasons. My work is made to feel thoughtful, grounded and lasting.
I started painting regularly during long prairie winters, turning to still lifes and garden imagery as a way to stay connected to the seasons. Over time, my practice grew into a sustainable rhythm: walking, photographing, drawing, and painting, again and again.
Most pieces begin as a sketch, drawing inspiration while Iām out walking or working in the garden. I am most satisfied when I work slowly and simply., following the way color, pattern and light move through the plants and land around me. The time and care behind my process is reflected in textures, surface shifts, and subtle imperfections. Each artwork is one of a kind, quiet, and personal.
My work is ideal for collectors who connect with thoughtful, lasting pieces.
