This June, I’ve selected a number of flower paintings made in the stillness of the evening. These aren't perfectly from life so much as impressions of the bouquets in jars on my desk and dried on the wall. Evening light in the studio leans toward blues and purples and simplifies contrast, inspiring shapes that are soft around the edges, sitting between observation and invention. My hope is that they feel easy and familiar - like a piece you’ve you’ve always had in your home.
